How can Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) be successfully led and facilitated in schools? The LeaFaP Final Conference took place on 27–28 April 2026 at the University of Education Vorarlberg, bringing together researchers and practitioners from eight European countries. We warmly thank everyone who joined us — on site and online — for two days of exchange on leading and facilitating Professional Learning Communities. Conference Highlights
Experts from eight European countries (Norway, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain, Greece, and Cyprus) came together for a high-level academic and practical program:
- International Keynotes: Offered insights and impulses from current European educational research.
- Research-Based Workshops: Explore the implementation of school and professional development processes through an inquiry-based lens.
- Innovation “Leading PLCs”: Introduction of the newly developed Modular Online Training program designed to enhance leadership and facilitation competencies in team processes.
Hybrid Participation and Live Translation
The LeaFaP Final Conference was designed as a fully hybrid event. Participants could join on site in Feldkirch or online via Zoom, with a continuously hosted main room serving as an information point and help desk, and parallel breakout rooms for the individual sessions.
To make the multilingual programme accessible to everyone, we provided simultaneous AI-based translation for the sessions. Participants could follow each contribution in their preferred language directly on their own device, listening or reading along in real time. This allowed contributions in German, English, Greek, Spanish and Norwegian to reach an international audience without language barriers.
This hybrid and multilingual setup was a core part of the LeaFaP approach: making collaborative professional learning genuinely accessible across countries and languages.
