LeaFaP – What We’ve Achieved & What’s Next

The Erasmus+ project LeaFaP – Leading and Facilitating Professional Learning Communities in Schools has successfully completed all planned development activities. Here’s what we’ve accomplished so far – and what comes next:

What We’ve Achieved So Far

  1. International Literature Review
    📚 Built a strong theoretical foundation on PLC leadership and facilitation based on research from Europe and the US.
  2. Focus Group Interviews
    🗣️ Collected practical insights from educators in 6 countries on the realities and challenges of PLC leadership.
  3. Conceptual Framework
    🧩 Developed a structured model for guiding effective PLC facilitation, including key dimensions such as reflection, inclusion, and context sensitivity.
  4. Learning Outcomes
    🎯 Defined essential competencies for PLC facilitators across seven dimensions (e.g. collaboration, inquiry, digital competence).
  5. Webinars & Barcamp
    🌐 Delivered national and international webinars to share findings and promote dialogue among stakeholders.
  6. Guideline & PLC Activities
    📖 Created a practical guideline and a set of structured activities to support facilitation and reflection in real PLCs.

🔜 What’s Next?


We are now working on the development of self-paced online training modules, based on the completed framework, outcomes, and tools. The training will be available in 5 languages and support educators across Europe in leading effective PLCs.
