The Erasmus+ project LeaFaP – Leading and Facilitating Professional Learning Communities in Schools has successfully completed all planned development activities. Here’s what we’ve accomplished so far – and what comes next:
What We’ve Achieved So Far
- International Literature Review
Built a strong theoretical foundation on PLC leadership and facilitation based on research from Europe and the US.
- Focus Group Interviews
Collected practical insights from educators in 6 countries on the realities and challenges of PLC leadership.
- Conceptual Framework
Developed a structured model for guiding effective PLC facilitation, including key dimensions such as reflection, inclusion, and context sensitivity.
- Learning Outcomes
Defined essential competencies for PLC facilitators across seven dimensions (e.g. collaboration, inquiry, digital competence).
- Webinars & Barcamp
Delivered national and international webinars to share findings and promote dialogue among stakeholders.
- Guideline & PLC Activities
Created a practical guideline and a set of structured activities to support facilitation and reflection in real PLCs.

What’s Next?
We are now working on the development of self-paced online training modules, based on the completed framework, outcomes, and tools. The training will be available in 5 languages and support educators across Europe in leading effective PLCs.
Partners from Austria, Germany, Spain, Greece, Norway, Italy & Cyprus are committed to strengthening professional learning cultures in schools through reflection, collaboration, and inquiry.
